Munich, Germany 9/10
after we left our gasthof in erding (40 minutes outside munich), we took our hour and a half drive to neuperlach sud in munich (20 minutes outside munich) - yes you can do the math, we got lost. lots of those detours i mentioned where they just cross munich off the list of places you can go on the various roads into the city. but we got there! and, this is now the first internet connection we have had in quite a while...

cliff took a break and walked a few miles around the local area while billy and i wandered around munich. we went in to schwabing in hopes of finding stores open, but no, things are not open on sundays around here - amazing considering the HUGE amount of foottraffic and windowshoppers there are! we went over into the englischer gardens to the chinese tower
for guess what? beer. i had a radler, which is half light beer and half lemonade. the beers here in the garden are the size of pitchers so we felt pretty good as we
walked around the gardens . some university folks were playing a softball game so we watched that along with a huge crowd of people, then we walked downtown to the marienplatz to check out the clock tower. there was a nice sunday mass going on right in the square with everyone singing along.we then checked out the hofbrauhaus and headed back to meet cliff for dinner and get some stuff put up on the web page for you to read!
Billy showing off the pants style in Germany..,yea real comfortable
tomorrow morning we will try to head in to munich to shop a little then leave around noon for lugano switzerland for the night- a nice relaxing lake town from what we hear. more on it later! -michelle and billy, cliff.
